These days, more and more people are turning to metal garages as a solution instead of a garage built with brick, vinyl, or some other material. There are a variety of sources for your metal building- but there are a few key questions that you need to ask before you choose a supplier for your construction needs.
First of all, you need to ask if the metal building manufacturer holds AC472 accreditation. This is something that specifically focuses on the quality of the work of that manufacturer. This accreditation is a comprehensive program for the metal buildings inspection. It is built upon Chapter 17 of the International Building Code and offers code officials with what they need to approve the production of metal buildings.
Next, you should find out if the manufacturer of your metal building is a good-standing member of the Metal Building Manufacturers Association. This is the trade association for this industry and defines/promotes the common interests of the manufacturers of metal buildings. There are more than 40 companies in this association, which gives you plenty of options.
Third, you need to find out who the manufacturer is and where they are located. This is a question that is specifically looking at the broker and the contractor. After all, this is going to be the most cost-intensive portion of your project. There’s no reason the broker/contractor should not tell you who manufactured the building. If you have a choice between two that are equal, with one being local and one being across the country, of course the local one is the best option.
When you are working with metal garages, you need to know a few things about it from who manufactured it and where they are located to whether or not they hold AC472 certification.
